  1. Media Arts. Millions of people use it every day to express themselves, and many of them make a good living off of it too. Some may say it isnt useful- alas, many would they are sorely misguided. At least, that is what Marty Hoban would think.
This is the basis for our Intro to Media Arts class- that media is important, massive, and all around us, in every form imaginable. It has been around for millennia, morphing to make use of the technology of the day and to represent the theme of the day. In Intro to Media Arts, this idea is presented strongly as soon as you step into class on the first day- our first assignment was to go make paper airplanes and fly them outside. Pretty chill class, eh? At least, until you mess up- that you definitely dont want to do while Hoban is near, but i digress.
In Media Arts, you will study everything from license plates to cell phones, paper to pixels, and anything else in between. Oh, It is also the only class you can have where you can yell at the teacher and completely get away with it (just saying....). Lastly, anyone taking this course better like reading blogs A LOT.
All this combines to a really fun and interesting class, and really, if you try hard enough, you will do fine. Whether Hoban accepts "fine" will just depend on the day...
